Blog Journal #2

  I have very limited experience using MS Word, and can’t really remember using it for anything in particular. I prefer using Google Docs. I prefer Google Docs because it’s the software I’ve used all through K-12 and at FSU, so I understand how to use it. I would like to learn more about MS Word, however. I wasn’t aware of ISTE standards, so I found it interesting that standards for teachers are changing alongside the time period we are in. I think that educators should have some base understanding of technology that can help them teach, because all tools are helpful. I like that the website linked on this assignment shows how teachers can progress their understanding of technology from “learner” to “analyst.” I also appreciate that culture and student diversity are considered with technology. EME 2040 First Blog

 1. I am a second year senior at FSU. I plan on graduating this summer and then getting my Masters in Educational Psychology. I want to be a teacher and am very interested in how ADHD affects learning. I have ADHD, love to paint, listen to music 24/7, and dogs are my favorite animal. I am kind and help others.  2. My use of technology in an educational setting is very limited. I am not good with technology at all and often have to ask my friends to figure out things on my computer. So, this class will be very useful for my future career. The extent of my knowledge on this subject is making presentations and using a large screen for a microteaching experience.  3. I am still unsure on what exactly a personal learning network (PLN) actually refers to. I often go to Strozier and do homework for many hours straight in order to free up time for other things.
