 1. Instagram has always been a useful tool for my PLN. It's an app that many other college studetns have, so I am able to get in contact with group members and peers for various assignments and resources. For this class I have been using Instagram to follow some classmates and trending teacher accounts. Twitter could be useful for coming across teaching resources and information. As a teacher, Twitter could also be useful for finding current news and protests to attend. 2. The digital divide is a very serious problem that affects many students nationwide. Not all students have access to computers, laptops, phones, or internet in general. This can make it very difficult to complete homework at home, access textbooks, study, and contact others. A major cause of the digital divide is poverty, which is then exacerbated by the digital divide as more privileged students use their resources and disadvantaged students fall behind. 1. Many copyrighted work is permitted for teaching and education under fair use. As a teacher, I will have to navigate what work is alright to use and make sure I follow any laws, but I don't forsee that being a huge issue. I hope to make my content and assessments according to what is required for the course, and making my own classroom material in this way should therefore avoid using copyrighted work. Developing my own instructional materials will also prevent students from just googling all the answers, so there are multiple benefits to that.  2. Certainly, with the increased use of technology, academ ic dishonesty is easier than ever. I could use a program like TurnItIn to check students work and make sure it's not plagiarized. I think making sure students know the repercussions to cheating is the best way to avoid it, and I would also want to make sure my students understand how them cheating affects their grades and peers, since it could affect any curve in the class.   I have very limited experience using MS Word, and can’t really remember using it for anything in particular. I prefer using Google Docs. I prefer Google Docs because it’s the software I’ve used all through K-12 and at FSU, so I understand how to use it. I would like to learn more about MS Word, however. I wasn’t aware of ISTE standards, so I found it interesting that standards for teachers are changing alongside the time period we are in. I think that educators should have some base understanding of technology that can help them teach, because all tools are helpful. I like that the website linked on this assignment shows how teachers can progress their understanding of technology from “learner” to “analyst.” I also appreciate that culture and student diversity are considered with technology.
