1. Working on the Web Design assignment greatly improved my understanding of how to use Wix. I also learned how to embed a calendar! One aspect I did not like, which may just be Wix specific, was that some things I wanted to do I had a lot of trouble finding or couldn't find. For example, my website has the tabs stay in one spot on the screen, when I would prefer they stop at the top of the page as to not cover any actual material. However, that may just be due to a lack of website design experience on my behalf. I can see myself using the soft skills from this assignment in my future career in order to design slideshows and other digital instrucitonal tools. My Web Design assignment can be found here: https://youngcaitlyne.wixsite.com/assignmentfour

2. I don't use smart home devices, ChatGPT, facial recognition, or fingerprint recognition. However, there is AI ingrained in my GPS, banking, Google searches, and email. So, I personally don't go out of my way to use AI tools but AI is embedded in everyday resources, so it is impossible to avoid. AI is a very useful tool that I can see myself using as a teacher because it will be even more embedded in the future and because it can make many tasks much easier. Grammarly is an example of an AI tool that I use every time I write an essay because it's easy to use and checks all of my work.

3. I actually have yet to use ChatGPT for class. I have written an essay on it, however, for my philosophy class last year, in which I discussed the implications of cheating and how it creates unfair expectations for the instructor and fellow peers. As an educator, I would make it clear that ChatGPT and other AI tools have some uses, but that cheating, plagiarizing, and not practicing all harm a student's understanding of the material, lead to higher expectations from instructors that may now sustain their teaching methods, directly affects peers curves on grades, doesn't help for exams and tests, and is generally just a high risk low reward activity. Appropiate uses for ChatGPT in the classroom are to generate ideas or check work.

4. I have never used ChatGPT, but I think it could be a useful tool. There will always be students that use it to cheat, but I think it could be helpful in order to generate review questions, articles, generate project ideas/activities, and check work. These would all help productivity. One AI tool I use quite frequently in order to improve productivity is Grammarly because it checks for spelling, grammar, and plagiarism.

  1. Hey Caitlyn! I love your website! It was so well put together and really easy to follow and read. The only thing I would recommend is probably adding more colors and making the home page stand out more!

  3. Hi Caitlyn! I really like your website and I think it is cool that it looks different from the other ones I have seen! I think my favorite page of yours would be the academic resources page, I think it looks really cool. The only thing I would recommend is to maybe add pictures and make the website look more welcoming or aesthetically pleasing. Great job!
