1. For this section, I chose grade levels 3-5 Standard 4 SC.35.CS-CS.4.1. This standard refers to identifying the basic components of a computer like the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I feel like I know the basic components of computers very well and could accurately convey that information to my classroom. The only aspects I don't know are the side ports for USBs and other things. But, anything I'm not sure of is information I can easily find.

2. I selected 9-12 Social Studies for this part of the assignment. I think knowing the actual standards required for a class/exams is important because I can design my instruction around them. It's very helpful to have concise requirements because I can know exactly what is needed. The many lesson plans available can be used in class or as a way to inspire my own lesson plan. I imagine it will be difficult for me to come up with a creative lesson plan for every aspect of AP Psychology when I'm a teacher, so that will be very helpful. Another aspect of this site that I enjoyed was the many lesson plans related to holidays like Presidents Day and Black History Month. These could be helpful ways to teach my class about diversity or to inspire lesson plans and activities.

3. It's important to be a proficient internet searcher because it aids efficiency and accuracy. If someone is proficient with searching, their research will be done faster because they can more easily find reliable sources with the information they need. Advanced searching is a great tool for that as well. One method that I like to use when searching is ommitting all uneccessary words. I also like to exclude some results by including "NOT" in my search. For example, if I want to know about bears but not polar bears, I could search "bears jaw power NOT polar bear." It's a very simple way to narrow search results.
