1. Many copyrighted work is permitted for teaching and education under fair use. As a teacher, I will have to navigate what work is alright to use and make sure I follow any laws, but I don't forsee that being a huge issue. I hope to make my content and assessments according to what is required for the course, and making my own classroom material in this way should therefore avoid using copyrighted work. Developing my own instructional materials will also prevent students from just googling all the answers, so there are multiple benefits to that.

2. Certainly, with the increased use of technology, academ
ic dishonesty is easier than ever. I could use a program like TurnItIn to check students work and make sure it's not plagiarized. I think making sure students know the repercussions to cheating is the best way to avoid it, and I would also want to make sure my students understand how them cheating affects their grades and peers, since it could affect any curve in the class. I think I could evaluate how students are understanding the material while in class, so that I can make sure to help students that need it. If students understand the content in class they will be less likely to feel like they need to cheat to get a passing grade.

3. I think AI can be a very helpful tool for generating ideas. AI has helped me choose what to paint, for example. AI is only harmful to student learning when it is used to completely write essays or answers to questions, but there are ways for teachers to check for academic dishonesty. As a teacher, I would want to ensure my students learn the material in class so that they do not feel the need to use AI to do all their homework. I wonder if teachers will be able to detect AI or ChatGPT written essays in the future though, because technology is always adapting so people can use it without getting caught.

4. Working on the newsletter assignment was super fun! I have very limited experience with Canva, so I got to work on that. I learned how to divide using the column function and I explored the creative side of Canva and got to design a banner. My favorite part was the creativity involved because I got to look through all the stickers that Canva provides for free and then choose some that followed my theme. I can definitely see myself using Canva for creative projects in the future, so I'm glad I got some experience with it.
